OUR LEADERSHIP

I have been a member of Kiwanis since 2015, and after serving as my club’s Secretary 2019-2020 and Vice President 2020-2021, I am proud to be the President of Richmond County Kiwanis Club 2021-2022.

In the years prior, I served as the District Chair of The Children’s Fund under Governors Hank Baker, Joe Ruggiero, and Brenda Leigh Johnson, District Chair of the Young Children’s Priority One since 2015, the 2016 recipient of the Power Women Award, and Former First Lady of my husband, Forbes Irvine - Past New York District Governor 2015-2016. As the First Lady, I started the Warm Beginnings Initiative which hosts “Baby Showers” in order to collect items for newborns that are then donated to local hospitals, churches, and communities. I started this project because I am a retired Registered Nurse of 40 years in Maternity at Richmond University Medical Center (formerly St. Vincent’s Hospital) in Staten Island, New York. During my tenure there, I witnessed numerous, especially single, parents struggle to cope with how little they had for their newborn child, and I felt as though this project would be a great opportunity to help those in need. In the 2017-2018 term, serving as District Chair of Young Children’s Priority One under Governor Candance Corsaro,

I began the New York District “Sweet Dreams” project, a service project in which clubs put together and donate small backpacks containing a new blanket, a book, and a stuffed animal. These backpacks are donated to children suffering from domestic abuse, separation from their families, or physical harm. This serves to comfort these children in their time of crisis. Kiwanis serves children of the world, and I look forward to using my Kiwanis experience to better serve the children of our communities.
